AI Drives Evolution Toward More Complex and Systematic Test Solutions
Zhang noted that the rapid development of artificial intelligence has significantly accelerated the emergence of diverse applications. The growing demand for massive data processing is pushing semiconductor test equipment to evolve toward greater complexity and system integration.
As chip technology approaches physical limits and demand for AI computing power grows exponentially, test equipment faces multiple challenges, including increased test complexity, more stringent power system requirements, and a clear trend toward systematic testing. These changes, Zhang said, require equipment companies to develop stronger capabilities in vertical technology integration and holistic solution delivery.
Global Market Growth and Domestic Opportunities
The global semiconductor test equipment market is currently in a phase of rapid expansion, with the market expected to grow 33% year-on-year in 2025. At the same time, driven by factors such as the external environment and supply chain security, domestic equipment companies are seeing significant development opportunities.
However, Zhang also noted that domestic equipment companies still face multiple challenges, including core technology barriers, ecosystem development, and the ability to deliver high-end solutions. Furthermore, because testing directly impacts overall yield, customers’ high reliability requirements create a very high barrier to market entry.
